This guide explains what puff count really means, which range suits your usage, and what else to look at besides the number.
What does “puff count” actually mean?
The figure on the box is an approximate estimate of how many puffs you will get before the device runs out. It is an estimate, not a guarantee, and it depends on:
- Puff length: one long draw uses more than two short ones.
- How hard you draw: the harder you pull, the faster you get through it.
- The battery: on non-rechargeable units the battery can die while e-liquid is still left.
That is why one person gets two weeks out of a 12,000-puff device and another gets five days — same product, different habits.

Which range should you pick?
First time? Start small
Do not buy a 50,000-puff device on your first go. Take something in the 3,000 to 8,000 range — if the flavour disappoints or vaping is not for you, you have not lost much. It is also the cheapest way to work out your taste.
Vaping daily? The middle is smarter
The 12,000 to 25,000 range is the sweet spot. It lasts a reasonable stretch, the cost per puff is lower than the small ranges, and you are not locked into a single flavour for a whole month.
Heavy user? The big ranges save money
If your consumption is high, 40,000 and above gives you the lowest cost per puff. One caveat though: you will be living with the same flavour for a long time, so pick one you are sure about.

Beyond the number — what else to check
Rechargeable or not
Most disposables above 10,000 puffs are now rechargeable via Type-C. This matters: without charging, the battery can run flat while e-liquid remains in the device.
Screen
Some newer models include a display showing remaining e-liquid and battery — convenient, because you know when to line up a replacement.
Draw style
Some disposables are built for an MTL (cigarette-style) draw and others for a DTL draw with dense vapour. If you are coming off cigarettes, pick the first type — the feel is far closer to what you know.
Flavour

Tips to make yours last longer
- Don’t chain-puff. Leave a few seconds between draws — overheating scorches the flavour and shortens the life.
- Don’t leave it in the car in summer. Heat ruins the e-liquid and damages the battery.
- Recharge before it goes completely flat if the model supports charging.
- Store it upright. It reduces the chance of leaking.
The short answer
A bigger number is not automatically better — the best one is the one that matches your consumption. Beginner? Start at 3,000–8,000. Daily? 12,000–25,000. Heavy? 40,000 and up.
